I was once again a guest on Marty's livecast/podcast this week. The five of us on the show discussed a whole bunch of topics, from (of course) the bullpen to Nick Punto to the Olympics. I should have posted this before the show, since you could have listened live and even called in had you been so inclined. I'll try to remember next time! Podcast Appearance

For the first time in about a year (and boy, will you be able to tell if you listen!) I appeared on a podcast. Marty's had an open invitation to a number of Twins bloggers since he resurrected his weekly Twins podcast, and for the first time this year I had a chance to call in. I'm joined by the inimitable Seth Stohs, who Marty for some reason suspects of being a serial killer (listen to the end, if you dare). We discuss the expected topics, and Marty attempts to inject some artificial animosity at a few points to prevent it from being an agree-fest. If you have a yearning to hear Seth, Marty, and I bantering incoherently, I suggest you check it out.

I forgot to put this up earlier, but I was a guest of Jeff Straub on his Minnesota Twins Fan Network podcast which he put up on Friday. We talked a little bit about the Rule 5 Draft, and also talked about the concepts of loss aversion and the focusing effect, which I discussed in a previous post.

Marty Andrade, Jeff Straub, and a fella I don't know named Bill (from Glenwood -- close to my old stompin' grounds) were together today on Marty's podcast. We had a wide-ranging discussion, from my statement about wishing Moneyball had never been written, to Justin Morneau, Torii Hunter, the All-Star Game, possible trades, Scott Ullger -- you get the idea. We talked about everything. There were some electronic gremlins around the 45 minute mark, but other than that things went pretty darned well. Thanks to Marty for having me on.

Site Update & Podcast Appearance

I'm done compiling the stats for the High A Report, but haven't yet had a chance to put up the post. It will be coming at some point soon -- but probably not until late tomorrow night. I will also be posting a nightly notes column tomorrow, but that too probably won't be until after midnight Saturday morning. The Low A Report will be up over the weekend, and the Down on the Farm reports will be back to regular next week.

Also, earlier tonight I recorded a podcast with Jeff Straub at the Minnesota Twins Fan Network, which should be up later tonight or sometime tomorrow. Thanks to Jeff for having me on. We talk extensively about the injury situation, and I talked a bit about how things are going in the minor leagues right now. Amongst all of this was a lot of general Twins talk, and for the first time I admitted that maybe, just maybe, I'm falling off of the Nick Punto bandwagon . . .

I'm not sure what specific topics he wants to cover, but I'm guessing the topics will include a rather angry Marty talking about Glen Perkins being sent down yesterday, and the mess that is Carlos Silva. Should be an interesting evening.

For the first time in several months, I taped a segment for Jeff Straub's podcast yesterday. He got it up this morning, so meander on over and listen if you get the chance. Jeff and I discussed the Mauer injury, the stadium situation, and went around the horn a little bit with the players. Thanks to Jeff for having me on again.

Marty's Podcast

Marty's biweekly podcast is today at 6 CT. I'll be appearing again, although Marty's hoping for some participation from some other bloggers who have been MIA most of the spring, so I might not be talking as much as in weeks past. We shall see. To listen to the podcast, go here.

Blog Update

Believe it or not, I'm over halfway done with the Relief Pitchers Organizational Ranking post. Whether I finish it tonight or tomorrow depends on how motivated I'm feeling. Either way, it will be up by tomorrow afternoon at the absolute latest (the hard part is done - I'm working on the lower level players right now).

And don't forget to check out Marty Andrade's podcast if you get the chance. Just watch out for the mini political rant about SI's decision to feature global warming in a recent issue - it shows up at the top of the podcast, and Marty was clearly feeling passionate about the issue. Once again, I enjoyed being on, and hopefully I didn't sound like I was completely nuts. Thanks to Marty for having me on!

I Didn't Forget!

Martin Andrade is hosting another Twins podcast tomorrow, and this time I've actually remembered to mention it on the blog! It's a live show, and listeners can call in. The show will be taking place at 10 pm central time Thursday night, and will run for an hour. If you have any desire to listen to some folks (including myself) talking about the Twins, stop on by. Missed It Again

For the second straight time, I've forgotten to mention Marty's podcast before I was on it (which is particularly bad since it's a live podcast that listeners can call in to). So, Marty, if you want some free advertising, the next time you have me on the podcast, you should "remind" me (as forcefully as necessary) to post something about it beforehand . . .

Anyway, on to the substance. The first half hour of the show was just Marty and me dishing on the first few spring games, roster battles, and his intense dislike of "uber-prospect watching" (to which I believe I gave a spirited defense). The second half hour brought Bill Gilles from Right Handed Heat onto the show, and the three of us talked about Patrick Reusse's "I hate blogs" article, the Twins stadium issue, the Veterans Committee Hall of Fame ballot, and probably some other things that I'm missing.
