Alexander Smit picked up the win and went 6 innings in his start as well. His ERA fell by .15 points, and he struck out 12 batters while walking just 2.

Zach Ward had 1 solid start (picking up the win), and 1 terrible start (taking the loss). His ERA consequently is not in good shape after 2 starts, but based on his track record this year, we should expect more outings like his 1st, where he was in control and won the game. Incidentally, I read a report recently (that I would link to if I remembered where it was) that suggests Ward is starting because he has 3 good pitches, but that he is projected down the road as a reliever. Time will tell.

Eduardo Morlan returned to the rotation, and his start was a success; he went 7 innings and lowered his ERA by .03 points, striking out 6 and walking just 1.

Paul Kelly is on the 7-day DL, and could come back at any time. Robbins is not officially on the DL just yet, but he didn't play at all this week. Andrew Thompson, meanwhile, is out for the year with a neck injury. He's had a rough year injury-wise, and hopefully will be able to return next year and actually play some baseball.
