Garza Time

Well, that was quick. Matt Garza has been called up by the Twins, marking yet another promotion for the phenom. He replaces Mike Smith on the roster, and will more than likely make his Major League debut on Friday. I can't remember seeing such demand for the promotion of a player mid-season in a long time; Garza's stock has gone through the roof, and Twins fans have been champing at the bit to see him play. Now they'll have their chance.

The only question I have at this point is, who will be starting on Saturday? That's Liriano's spot in the rotation, and it sure doesn't look like he'll be making it. The Twins will probably be calling either Scott Baker or Boof Bonser up yet again to make that start, and I guess my money is on Baker. He's looked more solid to me this season, more able to get guys out. He's just had a bit of a problem with his concentration, and seems to lose focus too easily. When he does, really, really bad things happen (like giving up a gazillion runs). So, we'll see...it'll be a tense couple of days.
