J.C. Romero
J.C. Romero's ignominious tenure with the Angels has come to an end, after the Halo's declined the option on Romero's contract.
The Twins got Alexi Casilla, a player who the coaching staff has fallen for hard, in this deal. I've mentioned before that this looked like a horrible trade at the time but turned out to be pretty darned good. We can now say for sure:
The Angels got 1 year of Romero, who threw out the following stats: 1-2, 6.70 ERA in 65 appearances.
The Twins got an exciting young middle-infielder who could be a backup as early as next year and could be Luis Castillo's replacement in 2008.
Yep, I'm thinking we got the better of this deal.
