Down on the Farm: AAA Report

Starting Pitchers
1.) J.D. Durbin - 4-3 / 2.33 ERA / 89 inn / 81-50 K-BB
2.) Scott Baker - 2-2 / 2.70 ERA / 43.1 inn / 37-16 K-BB
3.) Jason Miller - 1-3 / 2.60 ERA / 45 inn / 44-17 K-BB
4.) Pete Munro - 5-8 / 4.27 ERA / 92.2 inn / 55-23 K-BB
5.) Mike Smith - 6-3 / 3.99 ERA / 88 inn / 61-32 K-BB

The big news amongst the starters this week was an injured bicep suffered by J.D. Durbin that is going to keep him out of action until mid- to late July. It is likely that Henry Bonilla will replace him in the rotation. Durbin had pitched an inning and two thirds before coming out of the game with the injury in the middle of last week.

Amongst the other starters, Jason Miller got two starts, raising his ERA by .35 points and going 0-1. Mike Smith also picked up two starts, and fared better. His ERA went up by .20 points, but he picked up a win.

Scott Baker got one start this week, and lost the game. His ERA increased by .39 points, but he did strike out 8 batters while allowing just 1 walk.

Pete Munro also got one start, and went 5 innings, taking the loss. His ERA went up by .27 points, continuing the trend of the starters having bad weeks.

Relief Pitchers
1.) Pat Neshek - 6-2 / 2.05 ERA / 57 inn / 83-14 K-BB
2.) Ricky Barrett - 5-1 / 3.68 ERA / 44 inn / 48-22 K-BB
3.) Beau Kemp - 5-1 / 2.40 ERA / 45 inn / 18-18 K-BB
4.) Henry Bonilla - 3-6 / 4.33 ERA / 60.1 inn / 39-20 K-BB
5.) Kevin Cameron - 3-2 / 3.23 ERA / 30.2 inn / 28-15 K-BB
6.) Matt Ford - 1-0 / 3.97 ERA / 34 inn / 14-17 K-BB
7.) Bobby Korecky - 0-1 / 3.79 ERA / 19 inn / 11-4 K-BB
DL - Dave Gassner (no record)

Pat Neshek got into 2 games this week, winning one. His ERA increased by .16 points.

Beau Kemp pitched in 2 games as well, raising his ERA by .13 points.

Henry Bonilla appeared in 2 games, and had a good week, lowering his ERA by .31 and pitching 6 innings, while also picking up 3 K's.

Kevin Cameron got into 3 games and pitched 4 innings, but his ERA suffered, rising by .53 points. He did have a 5-2 K-BB ratio for the week.

Matt Ford pitched in 2 games for 2 innings. His ERA dropped by .25 points.

Bobby Korecky got into 3 games and pitched 3.2 innings, lowering his ERA by .32 points.

Ricky Barrett was the only Rochester pitcher not to get into a game this week.

Catchers
1.) Shawn Wooten - 65 games / .240 BA / 5 HR / 26 RBI

Alright, I relent. With Wooten catching 6 of the seven games this week, Chris Heintz started just 1, and started the rest at 3B. As a result, I can't justify listing Heintz as a Catcher any more, and so Wooten is the only guy that I have officially listed as a Catcher for the Red Wings. As for his play this week, Wooten bumped his average up by a point and picked up an RBI.

Infielders
1B - Garrett Jones - 80 games / .226 BA / 11 HR / 57 RBI
2B - Luis Maza - 66 games / .221 BA / 3 HR / 29 RBI
3B - Chris Heintz - 46 games / .295 BA / 1 HR / 17 RBI
SS - Glenn Williams - 63 games / .245 BA / 2 HR / 14 RBI
IF - Tommy Watkins - 6 games / .200 BA / 1 HR / 3 RBI
DL - Gil Velazquez - 38 games / .287 BA / 0 HR / 13 RBI

Velazquez didn't play at all this week, and wasn't demoted to the Rock Cats, so I am presuming that he is injured. Hopefully I will have more information on him next week.

Garrett Jones started all 7 games at 1B for the Red Wings, seeing his batting average drop by 3 games. He did pick up 4 RBI's.

Luis Maza started 6 games at 2B and 1 at DH. His batting average stayed exactly where it was, but he did hit a HR and picked up 3 RBI's.

Chris Heintz got 6 starts at 3B and 1 at C. His batting average fell by 2 points.

Glenn Williams started 5 games at SS, 1 at 3B, and 1 at 2B. His batting average went up by 2 points and he picked up 2 RBI's.

Tommy Watkins got 1 start at 2B and 2 at SS. His batting average, HR total, and RBI total all stayed put.

Outfielders
1.) Kevin West - 30 games / .196 BA / 3 HR / 15 RBI
2.) Josh Rabe - 75 games / .297 BA / 3 HR / 37 RBI
3.) Jason Tyner - 74 games / .317 BA / 0 HR / 21 RBI
4.) Andres Torres - 61 games / .243 BA / 2 HR / 18 RBI
5.) Alex Romero - 17 games / .175 BA / 0 HR / 2 RBI
6.) Rondell White - 2 games / .375 BA / 0 HR / 1 RBI (rehab assignment)

The Red Wings exchanged Shannon Stewart for Rondell White on rehab assignments. While White is eligible to come off of the disabled list in about a week, the word is that he is still having trouble catching up to fastballs. I suspect that until he can start to turn on fastballs and driver them, the Twins won't activate him. As a result, he may be spending some significant time in Rochester.

Kevin West got 3 starts at DH and 2 in RF. His batting average continues to fall, going down 8 points this week, although he did hit a HR and pick up 4 RBI's.

Josh Rabe got 5 starts in LF and 2 in RF. His batting average fell by 9 points, and he picked up 2 RBI's.

Jason Tyner started all 7 games in CF. He had a good week, raising his batting average by 6 points and picking up 2 RBI's.

Andres Torres got 1 start in RF. His batting average went up 7 points.

Alex Romero got 2 starts in RF, raising his batting average by 15 points and picking up 1 RBI.
