Down on the Farm: Low A Report

The Twins low A Team is the Beloit Snappers.

Starting Pitchers

1.) Kyle Waldrop - 6-2 / 3.29 ERA / 79.1 inn / 48-12 K-BB
2.) Oswaldo Sosa - 5-5 / 2.73 ERA / 66 inn / 52-25 K-BB
3.) Ryan Mullins - 1-2 / 4.59 ERA / 64.2 inn / 53-18 K-BB
4.) Eduardo Morlan - 2-3 / 2.67 ERA / 54 inn / 62-27 K-BB
5.) Adam Hawes - 1-2 / 5.22 ERA / 39.2 inn / 35-18 K-BB

A very good week for the Beloit starters, as all but one of them (Morlan) reduced their ERA's. Adam Hawes had the best week, reducing his ERA by .92. Morlan didn't exactly have a bad week, as his ERA only increased by .06 points. With Brian Duensing likely to be sent back to Beloit soon, either Hawes will lose his spot in the rotation, or Waldrop or Sosa will be promoted.

Relief Pitchers

1.) Jose Cordero - 0-1 / 20.25 ERA / 1.1 inn / 0-1 K-BB
2.) Yohan Pino - 4-1 / 1.67 ERA / 37.2 inn / 47-10 K-BB
3.) Frank Mata - 3-2 / 2.49 ERA / 21.2 inn / 10-5 K-BB
4.) David Shinskie - 4-4 / 3.00 ERA / 42 inn / 31-11 K-BB
5.) Danny Vais - 1-2 / 2.67 ERA / 33.2 inn / 29-9 K-BB
6.) Jose Lugo - 1-3 / 4.28 ERA / 27.1 inn / 31-12 K-BB
7.) Alexander Smit - 2-1 / 4.75 ERA / 30.1 inn / 35-18 K-BB

Forget about Cordero for the moment; he pitched just .1 innings this week and got lit up, so that 20.25 ERA can be excused for now. Smit, Lugo and Vais each lowered their ERA from a week ago, while Shinskie, Mata, and Pino each saw their ERA increase by a small margin. Nothing huge to report here,as the pitchers stayed pretty consistent.

Catchers

1.) Caleb Moore - 53 games / .279 BA / 2 HR / 21 RBI
2.) Allan de San Miguel - 33 games / .194 BA / 0 HR / 14 RBI

Nothing much to report. Moore was consistent with his hitting, while de San Miguel increased his paltry average by 9 points.

Infielders

1B - Erik Lis - 56 games / .329 BA / 8 HR / 36 RBI
SS - Steven Tolleson - 47 games / .287 BA / 2 HR / 16 RBI
SS - Paul Kelly - 62 games / .263 BA / 3 HR / 34 RBI
3B - Juan Portes - 14 games / .228 BA / 0 HR / 4 RBI
SS - Andrew Thompson - 48 games / .253 BA / 2 HR / 10 RBI
SS - Toby Gardenhire - 35 games / .218 BA / 0 HR / 5 RBI
1B - Henry Sanchez - 46 games / .201 BA / 4 HR / 18 RBI
3B - Daniel Berg - 7 games / .263 BA / 0 HR / 4 RBI

Steven Tolleson and Juan Portes did not play this week, so I assume that they are injured. Andrew Thompson had a very good week, jumping his batting average by .30 points. Daniel Berg also got into the swing of things, playing five games and seeing his batting average jump by .96 points. And a shout out to Toby Gardenhire, who is at least moving in the right direction. His BA went from .209 to .218.

Outfielders

1.) Tarrence Patterson - 48 games / .264 BA / 0 HR / 8 RBI
2.) Dwayne White - 39 games / .205 BA / 1 HR / 9 RBI
3.) Eli Tintor - 49 games / .272 BA / 3 HR / 22 RBI
4.) Edward Ovalle - 61 games / .264 BA / 6 HR / 26 RBI
5.) Josh Land - 15 games / .204 BA / 0 HR / 7 RBI

There were no hugely dramatic improvements for anybody this week, but neither were there huge drops. Ovalle and Tintor both hit a homerun this week.
