New Britain Rock Cats

Starting Pitchers

1.) Errol Simonitsch - 5-10 / 4.13 ERA / 96 inn / 57-23 K-BB
2.) Glen Perkins - 2-10 / 4.05 ERA / 91 inn / 96-32 K-BB
3.) Matt Garza - 6-2 / 2.51 ERA / 57.1 inn / 68-14 K-BB
4.) Jay Sawatski - 1-0 / 3.99 ERA / 38.1 inn / 35-15 K-BB
5.) Kevin Slowey - 1-2 / 3.00 ERA / 21 inn / 17-1 K-BB

Errol Simonitsch made two starts, losing both. His ERA went up by .57 points over his 10 innings of work. He had a 6-3 K-BB ratio.

Glen Perkins went 6 innings in his start, taking the loss. His ERA actually went down by .19 points, however, and he picked up 4 K's.

Matt Garza won his start, lasting 8 innings and striking out 9. His ERA dropped by .41 points.

Jay Sawatski was promoted from Ft. Myers, rejoining the team. He went 4.2 innings in his start, giving up 1 ER on 5 H's with 1 BB and 5 K's.

Kevin Slowey went 7.2 innings and took a loss. His ERA went down by .38 points, and he had 7 K's.

Tristan Crawford pitched 3 innings over 2 games, lowering his ERA by .05 points. He had 3 K's and 3 BB's.

John Thomas got into 1 game and went 2 innings. His ERA went up by a pretty horrid .96 points, and he had 5 BB's against just 2 K's.

Julio DePaula got into 2 games, pitching 2 innings. His ERA went down by .16 points, and he picked up 2 K's.

Nick Blackburn pitched 2 innings in 1 game. His ERA went up by .08 points, and he had 2 K's to 1 BB.

Adam Harben got a spot start and appeared once in relief, for a total of 8 innings. He lost a game, and his ERA increased by .08 points, picking up 4 K's and 4 BB's.

Justin Olson's only appearance was a start that lasted 6 innings, but that was before Sawatski returned to the team, and I assume he will now be used primarily in relief. He picked up a win and lowered his ERA by .41 points, while picking up 5 K's and 2 BB's.

Catchers

Steve Lomasney started 4 games behind the plate, and his batting average accordingly dropped by 9 points. The guy's not a particularly great hitter.

Jose Morales started 3 games at C and 1 at DH. His batting average went up by 7 points, and he hit a HR while picking up 4 RBI's.

Infielders
1B - Doug Deeds - 79 games / .289 BA / 5 HR / 33 RBI
2B - Felix Molina - 72 games / .262 BA / 7 HR / 34 RBI

Doug Deeds started 7 games at 1B. His batting average went up by 7 points, and he picked up 2 RBI's.

Felix Molina started all 8 games at 2B. His batting average went up by 7 points, and he picked up 5 RBI's.

Matt Tolbert dethroned Matt Moses as the 3B, making all 8 starts there. His batting average went up by 22 points and he picked up 6 RBI's.

J.R. Taylor started 8 games at SS. His batting average went up by 15 points, and he hit a HR while picking up 3 RBI's.

Daniel Matienzo started 3 games at DH, 1 at 1B, and 1 at C. His batting average increased by 9 points, he hit a HR, and he picked up 5 RBI's.

Matt Moses lost his job at 3B, and picked up all 4 of his starts at DH. His batting average fell by 2 points.

Denard Span made 7 starts in CF. His batting average increased by 8 points and he picked up 1 RBI.

Scott Whitrock started 6 games in RF. His batting average incrased by 3 points.

Trent Oeltjen started 2 games in RF, 1 in CF, and 1 in LF. His batting average stayed where it was, but he picked up 3 RBI's.
