Down on the Farm Reports

As promised, the Down on the Farm reports have been completed. These will be the last of the regular-format DOTF reports, although I will comment on how the playoff-bound teams are doing from time to time, usually after they finish a series.

The first of those comments is right here, and unfortunately it's bad news. The Elizabethton Twins, who were the champions of the Appalachian League last year, were unable to turn the trick for a second year in a row. In a rematch from last year's championship series, the Danville Braves won the series 2-1. Daniel Valencia, All-Star 3B, had a great second game (the only won the E-Twins won), going 4-4 with a HR. Unfortunately, pitching let the E-Twins down in the other 2 games, and Danville picked up the title. Congrats to the E-Twins for making it back to the championship game, even if they came up a little short in the end.

Rochester, Ft. Myers, and Beloit will be starting playoff series over the next few days. Good luck to each of them as well.
