Down on the Farm: Low A Report

Beloit Snappers

Starting Pitchers

1.) Ryan Mullins - 2-6 / 3.72 ERA / 121 inn / 100-40 K-BB
2.) Alexander Smit - 4-1 / 3.66 ERA / 71.1 inn / 86-35 K-BB
3.) Jose Cordero - 0-2 / 5.28 ERA / 30.2 inn / 29-16 K-BB
4.) Yohan Pino - 10-2 / 1.63 ERA / 66.1 inn / 77-16 K-BB
5.) Zach Ward - no record
DL - Adam Hawes - 4-3 / 4.52 ERA / 75.2 inn / 53-30 K-BB

Ryan Mullins started 3 games, pitching 19 innings and taking a loss. His ERA fell by .25 points, and he picked up 12 K's against 6 BB's.

Alexander Smit started 3 games, pitching 17.1 innings and winning 2 games. His ERA dropped by .34 points, and he had 22 K's against just 7 BB's.

Jose Cordero started 3 games, pitching 14 innings and losing a game. His ERA fell by .66 points, and he had 13 K's against 6 BB's.

Yohan Pino moved into the rotation, making 2 starts and also appearing once in relief, for a total of 13.1 innings. He also picked up 2 wins. His ERA rose by .10 points, but he struck out 13 batters and didn't walk anybody.

Zach Ward, acquired in the Kyle Lohse trade, joins the Snappers and should make his first start soon. Ward's numbers this season have been very good, and he should make an excellent addition to the Twins farm system.

The rotatation changed significantly over the last two weeks because of a presumed injury to Adam Hawes (who hasn't pitched in awhile), and the promotion to Ft. Myers of Oswaldo Sosa.

Relief Pitchers
1.) Frank Mata - 5-3 / 3.89 ERA / 41.2 inn / 19-14 K-BB
2.) David Shinskie - 6-6 / 2.13 ERA / 71.2 inn / 58-15 K-BB
3.) Danny Vais - 3-3 / 2.23 ERA / 60.2 inn / 57-21 K-BB
4.) Armando Gabino - 1-1 / 6.30 ERA / 10 inn / 6-1 K-BB
5.) Eduardo Morlan - 3-5 / 2.91 ERA / 77.1 inn / 93-31 K-BB

DL - Jon-Michael Cline - 0-2 / 8.53 ERA / 6.1 inn / 8-4 K-BB

Frank Mata made 5 appearances and pitched 6.1 innings, stricking out 2 but walking 4. His ERA went way, way up, rising by .83 points.

David Shinskie pitched in 8 games for a total of 7.2 innings and taking a loss. His ERA fell by .12 points, and he had 9 K's against 2 BB's.

Danny Vais got into 5 games covering 3.1 innings. He went 1-1, and his ERA went up by .19 points. He struck out 10 and walked 4.

Armando Gabino made 5 appearances, pitching 6.9 innings and picking up both a win and a loss. His ERA fell by 4.50 points, and he struck out a batter.

Eduardo Morlan returned to the team and pitched 4 times out of the bullpen while also making a start. He pitched 11.2 innings and took a loss.

Dan Leatherman was promoted yet again, but it may not stick. Leatherman may have been temporarily promoted to cover a shortage on the staff, but for now he remains with the team and his amazing story continues. We'll see if he stays when Jon Cline returns from the disabled list.

Jon Cline made 2 appearances before going on the DL, nearly halving his ERA.
